Teneriffe – New Farm to Newstead

Wikimedia Commons

There is lovely waterfront running in riverside suburb of Teneriffe, just east of Brisbane. A great 5 mile out and back is to run from New Farm to the Newstead House, the oldest surviving house in the area, dating back to 1846. There is a mainly flat, mostly paved path along the Brisbane River for most of the way, except for a brief road section along Skyring Terrace near the Teneriffe Ferry Terminal.

Add-Ons/Variation: It’s a ~1 km lap around lovely New Farm Park. Can also continue along the river toward central Brisbane, using our River Walk route. And if you’d prefer an alternative to the out and back, cut back to New Farm from Newstead by cutting through the nightlife district of Fortitude Valley, using Ann Street.
