Crosby Beach Coastal Park

Located just 11 km north of Liverpool Center and easily accessible by train, Crosby Beach makes for a fantastic destination run. It’s here that the River Mersey reaches the Irish Sea, and a coastal path heads for several km north from Waterloo. Start with a loop around Marine Lake near the Waterloo Train Station, then head north along the wide seafront promenade past Anthony Gormley’s “Another Place” statues towards Fort Crosby. The path is paved to Blundellsands Park, and then dirt thereafter. The beach itself is runnable, but the sand can be soft and ridgy.

Add-Ons: The Rimrose Country Park is also a close addition to the southern start of the route, with 2+ miles of paths.

Essentials
  • Up to 12 km (7.5 miles) out and back
  • 10 meters (34 feet)
