Angers: Ile Béhuard Loop

Run a loop around the only village to lie on an island in the Loire Valley! Ile Béhuard is an island located in the middle of the Loire River 15 km south of Angers. Scenic, paved walking paths ring the low-trafficked island, forming a flat 9 km loop. The terrain is pastoral, with open fields, farms, and river views. Circuit marked out in mauve.

Add-On: Just north of Ile Béhuard are the the hillsides of Savennières, a village reputed for its vineyards and wine estates. There is wonderful, hilly running here on quiet (and narrow!) vineyard roads. There’s also a pedestrian path called the Chemin des Perrière.
