Expo ’70 Commemorative Park

One of the treats of running in Osaka is a loop of the beautiful Expo Commemorative Park. The Expo Park was constructed as the grounds for the 1970 World’s Fair. Today, the 264 hectare park is a peaceful green refuge with miles of paths through gardens, cherry blossoms, and the famous Tower of the Sun. We’ve mapped a 5k (3.1 mile) loop of the park perimeter, but there are also other paths to be enjoyed. Famous for cherry blossoms in March-April.

Make a day of your visit and stick around for shopping, museums, restaurants, and more. There’s a Japanese Garden, Ethnology Museum, and a Museum of Folk & Culture.
