Osaka is served by two airports: the larger Kansai Airport, and Itami Airport, which caters mainly to domestic flights. For those staying in the area of Itami Airport, there’s some decent running along the Ina River, in a series of parks. Here are some options:
Itami Sky Park. Just west of the airport, there’s a 1 km path and an observation deck. Great spot to view planes!
- It’s possible to connect to Ina River Ground (below), using the 99 Road. It’s a busy road, not scenic, but there’s a sidewalk.
Ina River Ground & Higashi Kushiro Athletic Park. Just west of Itami Sky Park, there’s some nice running along the Ina River through Ina River Ground. There are paths & athletic fields. We recommend combining this with Higashi Kushiro Athletic Park on the west side of the river. There are paved riverside paths and athletic fields. Use Gunko Bridge to cross (busy, but there’s a sidewalk). Overall, combining these two parks is 4.5 km one-way.
