Dinard Coastal Path

Mark Lowenstein

This route in Dinard has it all: historic homes, a charming old town, breathtaking sea views, and a festive beach. Dinard is a popular holiday destination dating back to the 19th century, where numerous aristocratic villas were built during the ‘belle epoque’ era. The main route is up to 4.5 km one-way, with good add-on options.

Our route begins at the Bd. de la Mer, where you can run on the road passing by the historic villas, or take the coastal Chemin de la Ronde de la Malouine, where you have the sea on one side and the the rear of the villas on the other. Head east, enjoying the views of the water and the walled city of Saint-Malo across the way. Continue along the coastal path/promenade, passing the Plage Saint-Enogat, festive Plage de l’Écluse, and using the Prom. des Alliés out to Pointe du Moulinet. Continue on the Promenade au Clair-de-Lune, enjoying views of the bay and Saint-Malo. The route ends at Parc du Port Breton.

Add-Ons: Additional paths at Parc du Port Breton, passing by a manor house and landscaped gardens. You can also take the D114 road for ~0.5 km to the Chemin de Ronde, a more rugged coastal path that goes for another ~2 km (with a couple of breaks), around the Pointe de la Vicomté.

Pro Tip: Combine your visit in Dinard with Saint-Malo, which is also great for running! You can drive to Saint-Malo, or even better, take the frequent, inexpensive ferry that runs between Dinard and Saint-Malo.
