A scenic waterfront promenade, Paseo Maritimo/Paseo Juan Aparicio, runs for 3 km between Av. Roentgen at Playa de los Locos and the marina in the center of town (Centro). It’s a wide pedestrian path, with great views of the beach and the sea. As part of this, we suggest adding the scenic dyke, Paseo Voladizo del Dique de Levante, which extends for 1.4 km out to a lighthouse, passing a marina and a fun wake park.

Just inland, there are a few km of scenic trails at the Parc Natural de Las Lagunas de La Mata y Torrevieja, a nature reserve featuring salt lagoons known for pink-hued water, plus a variety of plants & birds.

Punta Prima Area

Just south, there’s 5 km of pleasant coastal running in the Punta Prima area. You can start as far north as Ferris Playa (beach) @ C. Narváez. It’s a wide dirt path in this section. After 1.2 km at Playa Roco Del Mar, the Paseo Maritimo becomes a wide, paved promenade, continuing south along the beaches to Playa La Zenia. It’s a wide, open path for most of the way. Longer Option: You can continue on the Cala Las escaleras de Cabo Roig path, just south of Zenia Beach.
