Colonial Greenway/Leatherstocking Trail

Google Street View

The Colonial Greenway is a 15-mile mostly off-road trail system connecting numerous parks in White Plains, Eastchester, and New Rochelle. Many parts of this gravel/dirt trail are called the Leatherstocking Trail. The trail actually forms a figure-eight loop. The full outer loop is 12.3 miles. An Eastern Loop is 8.5 miles, which includes nice sections headed south through Ward Acres Park, Sheldrake Lake, and Saxon Woods Park. The 9.4-mile West Loop includes a nice section through Twin Lakes County Park, including a reservoir. See this trail map for details.

Add-Ons: Additional trails in Saxon Woods Park. There are two well-blazed 3-mile loops. And the county’s largest pool for a post-run dip!
