Saxon Woods Park (White Plains)

Google Street View

For some pleasant trail running, Saxon Woods Park in the White Plains area is a good destination. The 700-acre park features about 6 miles of trails through mature hardwood forests. There’s also a golf course and the county’s largest swimming pool — perfect for a post-run dip! And for a longer run, connect with the Colonial Greenway/Leatherstocking Trail, which makes a 15-mile loop.

At Saxon Woods, there are two well-blazed loops. The 2.9-mile Yellow Loop is south of the Hutchison River Parkway, and the 3-mile White Loop is north of it. For a longer run, hop onto the Colonial Greenway — there a couple of options: headed west, paralleling the Hutchison River Parkway toward Twin Lakes Park (good spur to Ward Acres Park. Or, head south of Old White Plains Rd. on the Leatherstocking Trail.

Essentials
  • Two 3-mile marked loops. Longer run incorporating Colonial Greenway
