Many of the world’s great parks are influenced by the classics of Europe, some of which date back to the 1600s. Tree-lined allées, landscaped gardens, and a festive atmosphere characterize these parks. This is our list of the most important European parks for running. To qualify, they must be centrally located, and feature at least 3-4 km of suitable paths. Out focus is on the more landscaped urban parks, rather than ‘trail running’ type parks. The list is in alphabetical order by city — not a ranked ‘best list’, which would be impossible anyway! NOTE: To return to this page, click ‘back’ button in browser.
Vondelpark is the largest park in Amsterdam, very popular and centrally located . Combine its lovely paths and gardens with nearby Rembrandtpark for a 5.5 mile loop.
